Porpoise and seal safari

Would you like to go out on the Sound and see Denmark's smallest whale, the harbor porpoise, the harbor seal or maybe even the Atlantic tuna? Then join a porpoise and seal safari and get close to the unique wildlife in Øresund.

We set sail in our large inflatable boat and head for the northern part of the Sound, where the porpoises are especially common. From here we head towards the Swedish side of the Sound, where we know the curious seals hang out at their colony. The seals are often curious and often even come close to the boat. We will be joined by Øresund Aquarium's guides who will tell us about the animals' exciting lives.

On our trips this fall, we may also be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the large Atlantic bluefin tuna, which after many years of absence can once again be seen in the Sound. Although the tuna will soon begin their journey back to their spawning grounds after the late summer feeding frenzy in Øresund, there are still great opportunities to see this iconic fish jumping. So keep your eyes and ears open for an experience of a lifetime.

Porpoise and seal populations are thriving in Øresund as there is plenty of food for them. On Øresund Aquarium's trips last year, we saw porpoises or seals on all of our trips - so even though we don't offer a “porpoise guarantee” or “seal guarantee”, the chances of seeing both porpoises and seals on the trips are very good. We don't offer a tuna guarantee either, but the Atlantic bluefin tuna are back in the Sound and the chances of seeing them are quite high.
